After a year of hard work and commitment from the Benin film academy, the hard work of Lancelot Imasuen pays off has it graduates its first set of student into the movie industry.
The founder of the academy is an iconic and award-winning filmmaker, Lancelot Imasuen, he established the academy on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 to help groom the talents of young and aspiring actors.
Lancelot achieved this feat with partnership with Igbinedion University, Okada.
Speaking about the graduation ceremony, Lancelot said;
“We are going to hold our maiden graduation ceremony for the first set of students of the Benin Film Academy, numbering about 50. We said it, and it happened. We have one of the graduating students playing a major role in an upcoming movie. We promised that we will be taking the aspiring Nollywood greats from the streets to the big screen. And that’s exactly what we are doing.”
Benin film academy is here to groom raw talents to take over the movie industry; it’s a platform that will teleport people from the Niger-Delta and middle Belt-Zone of the country.
Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen (born 21 July 1971) is a Nigerian film director, screenwriter and film producer.
Imasuen has worked in the film industry since 1999 mainly as a film director and producer. He currently lives in Lagos.
His films feature unexplored aspects of the African experience including tribalism, witchcraft, crime, poverty, religion, and folk beliefs.
