The positive role the movie industry in Nigeria called Nollywood has played in the Nigerian society and economy has been hailed by the Lagos Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ken Njoku.

Njoku commended the Nigerian film industry when the chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos Chapter, Don Pedro Aganbi paid a courtesy visit to his office in Lagos recently.

The police officer said that Nollywood has specially projected the Nigeria Police positively to the world through their movies.

“We are very proud of Nollywood because you have always projected the police in positive light in your movies; the level of research and quality you put into your movies these days also shows that you are keeping tab with global trend no wonder you have become the toast of the Nigerian Nation and above all, you have been very law abiding and we at the Lagos Police Command are really proud of you,” the Lagos Police PPRO said.

In his response, the ebullient Chairman of AGN Lagos, Don Pedro Aganbi thanked the police for making Lagos a safe haven for Nollywood.

“Indeed, you have given us a conducive environment to thrive and we are grateful. The purpose of this visit is to acquaint you with our activities at AGN Lagos Chapter and to share ideas on how we can enhance our partnership for the mutual benefit of both the police and AGN Lagos.

“We also consider it very important to intimate you with recent developments in the Guild and to put them in proper perspectives,” Aganbi said at the meeting.

Aganbi, who was accompanied by his executives, later went into a closed door meeting with the police image maker for crucial talks.
