Veteran Afrobeat musician, Bisade Ologunde, popularly known as Lagbaja is set to return to Nigeria. This time, he will be performing alongside “Jamb Question” crooner, Simisola Ogunleye, also known as Simi, at the Johnnie, Jazz & Whisky concert.
Lagbaja makes a return to the stage after almost a decade.
The event which will take place on Saturday will feature live performances from the ‘Konko Below’ and ‘Joromi’ singers.
Guests will be treated to various side attractions as they share in the delight of Johnnie Walker Black Label’s distinctive flavours – fruity, tropical, creamy & smoky.
The 58-year-old musician who is also a songwriter, saxophonist and performer has not released new music song since 2012 and has not been seen on stage since. In the early 2000’s, his Motherlan’ premises in Lagos was the venue of weekly shows by him and a number of other acts. However, he was said to have relocated to the United States and his band more or less folded up. While there, he released a couple of singles but not a comprehensive body of work like his early albums.
His return to the stage is something fans would look out for, especially as he’s being paired with one of Nigeria’s most promising starlets, Simi.
