President of The Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Association Of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Dele Odule, has revealed that he did not make any attempt whatsoever to intercede for fellow actor, Kunle Afod, when he met with the marketers that banned the latter recently.
It would be recalled that marketers of the Yoruba movie industry films, under the aegis of Yoruba Video Film Producers/Marketers Association Of Nigeria (YOVIFPMAN) had placed a ban on any movie that featured actor, Kunle Afod and actress, Yewande Adekoya, for allegedly releasing their movies online.
In a chat with YMG, Dele said that he only resolved Yewande’s case with the marketers when he met with them as she was an active member of TAMPAN unlike Kunle, who he said was on his own.
He said of his meeting with the marketers, “We all know that the industry is gradually dying and we need to correct many things to revamp it. That was the main motive of the meeting, then we touched on other issues such as Yewande Adekoya and Kunle Afod’s case. Yewande, to be precise. Yewande is a member of our association and her issue was projected beyond proportion.
“Kunle Afod is not our member, he is not a member of TAMPAN. If he had joined our association, maybe we would have tabled his case also and he would have reported the case to the association but Yewande did because she is a member of TAMPAN,” he added.
