Leading Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, is 43 today, Sunday, July 19. The single mother of one is so excited to be year older that she expressed her inner feeling via her Instagram page.

“Through whatever come what may, my hope is built on nothing else than Jesus blood and His righteous. Though the storm may rage and the billows roar, His banner over me is love. All I have needed, His hands have provided. Great is thy faithfulness,Lord unto me. Thank you Elshaddai for another reason to celebrate the gift of life this day and always. Your grace is sufficient for me,” she penned down appreciating God for seeing her through all the recent losses.

Recall that the actress is still recovering from the huge loss when her Lekki phase 1 house was razed down by inferno.

The fire started around 3pm and neighbours struggled to put out the fire.

Although the Cross River state born diva has since moved out of the house, she is yet to recover all was destroyed by the fire.

Henshaw is a Nigerian actress. In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

She is the oldest in her family. After completing her primary and secondary school in Lagos and Calabar, she spent one year at the University of Calabar reading remedial studies, and then majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science, LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) in Lagos. Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General hospital.

In 1993 Henshaw auditioned for the lead role in the movie, ‘When the Sun Sets’ and was handed the role.

That was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie.

She has starred in over 40 Nollywood movies.

In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain. She is now “The Face of Onga”. She is a judge on Nigeria’s Got Talent.
