Although she chose the wedding date, the late Lady of Songs who was recently buried in her husband’s home state, Anambra never lived to witnessed the wedding of her second son, Chinwuba ‘Kaka’ Igbokwe.
As the bell tolls today at the Arch Bishop Vinning Memorial Church, Ikeja Lagos, she will be missing on the list of the celebrities that will throng the high profile Church as Kaka, walks down the aisles with Chioma his heart throb of twelve years.
Kaka, a rap artist following in the steps of his late and who spoke to this writer with mixed feelings disclosed that “My mum chose our wedding date four days before her demise. She told me the September date I chose was not good as certain events may not allow us to follow our dream. It was as if she was predicting her death and the events that would follow her burial.”
On his choice of a wife, Kaka told us that “ I met my would be wife thirteen years ago in high school. We remained friends until we started dating three years ago.
But I couldn’t bring her home because of the fear of Mummy. But when she asked that we bring home our girlfriends, I picked courage. She asked me to write down the names of all my girlfriends and I gave her just two names.
She chose Chioma and that was it” he said with a smile.
