The Independent National Electoral Commission has named Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The commission also named Mr. Alabi Ebenezer Omotayo as his running mate.
Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja had refused to grant stay of execution to the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the PDP over Ondo governorship candidate Jimoh Ibrahim of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction. Abang had earlier declared Ibrahim the legitimate candidate of the PDP, a move that was greeted with uproar by PDP members in Ondo state.
Abang’s ruling on Thursday, October 27 is at variant with a ruling acquired by the Makarfi faction on Wednesday, October 26.
