Beef and quarrel are two things that never lack among celebrities. It is one party is dissing or fighting another and in Nigeria, the scenario is not different. Some time ago, IK Ogbonna had spoken contrary to what Flavour said about marriage being a distraction to an artiste’s career.
A lot of people believed that he wanted to hit Flavour but IK is saying something different to this event.
He has made it clear that he has deep respect for Flavour and he can never throw shade on anyone, especially not on a guy whose craft he totally admire. That can never happen, he said.
“So lately I have been getting calls from different media platforms asking if I threw shades at Flavour…Kudos to Flavour and big thanks to him for making Africa proud with his music. I just believe that as a public figure, you carry a certain social responsibility in a way that there are many people who look after you and tend to learn from you. As a celebrity you have a loud voice to speak up and a real power of it lays in ability of touching and influencing people’s lives in a positive manner. The fact is that marriage concluded on wrong, superficial reasons can be equal hell and prison and such union will definitely block and stop your prosperity and progress.I will never ever encourage people to get married just for sake of getting married or because society says it’s about the time. That’s rubbish. No one should ever settle.”
Finally, he said “My intention was and still is to share my very own personal life experience and how presence of a right person in my life helped me grow and prosper in every single segment of my life, and that there is no reason to be afraid of marriage, all you have to do is to talk to God everyday and ask Him to send you that your missing rib that is made for you only. I feel that marriage based on pure love, respect, support, honesty, friendship and loyalty is a beautiful blessing and I wouldn’t want anyone to miss it because he or she was afraid that it will reflect negatively on other fields of their lives. It really doesn’t need to be that way.”
