Like many artistes who started their music career from the church, this talented artiste, Prince Maxwell Oghenemine Omoferi, also known as Mbryo, also caught his teeth from the church.

But one thing led to another, he settled for secular music and got signed on to Ruggedman’s Rugged Records.

According to him, he chose to do R n B because of his desire to do music that was marketable and also enable him perform at clubs and parties.

“Then I was doing gospel. Then I wanted to do gospel music that will be marketable, as in gospel music you can play in clubs and play at parties,” he said in a recent interview with City People.

“But people were telling me, ‘if you are going to do gospel, do gospel. If you are going to do commercial, do commercial. Don’t sit on the fence.’ My name was Ginger at that time. It was spelt G-In-Jah like a ‘Guy In Jehovah’,” he said.
