The Jamaican finished first in a time of 9.81s to edge out rival Justin Gatlin in Rio de Janeiro but the seven-time Olympic gold medalist has acknowledged that he was disappointed with his time in the final.
Usain Bolt has said that he was happy to claim his third successive Olympic gold medal in the 100m final, despite admitting that he had hoped to record a faster time.
The Jamaican finished first in a time of 9.81s to edge out rival Justin Gatlin in Rio de Janeiro but the seven-time Olympic gold medallist has acknowledged that he was disappointed with his time in the final.
The 29-year-old told BBC Sport: “It was brilliant. I am really happy.
“I expected to go faster but the time was so quick where we had to come back out and I think that’s why I didn’t run faster. I’m just happy that I won and that is the key thing.”
