Popular comedian, Basketmouth has insisted that the friendship between him and Nigerian singer, Wizkid is intact.

This follows a recent shading aimed at the Grammy-winning singer by the ace comedian.

The actor stated that the purpose of the shade was a marketing tactic to generate buzz for his Canadian tour.

Recall that during Davido and Chioma’s wedding, Basketmouth jokingly lamented the difficulty in promoting his tour due to the attention focused on the wedding, even overshadowing Wizkid’s social media drama.

Some of Wizkid’s fans who reacted to Basketmouth’s comment vowed to cancel the legendary comedian.

Basketmouth has, however, clarified that he is cool with Wizkid as the aim of the shade was to attract people’s attention.

He said, “Wizkid is my guy…that was a marketing technique. But I knew it was going to be edgy.

“I knew it was going to hit people. I knew they were going to get upset and they did exactly what I wanted them to do. It worked.”
