Veteran Fuji artiste, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, has denied reports that he quit his position as the National President of Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria because he couldn’t handle the rigors of the job.
He said he walked away from the responsibility when he realised that people were plotting against him and he wasn’t interested in anything that could hinder his career. “I did not lobby for the position of FUMAN president; I was selected based on my track record, and a letter was given to me to that effect. However, some people saw me as a threat to them and started finding all possible means to pull me down.
I relieved myself of the task because there was no proper structure in place and there were too many evil plots. I do not want unnecessary distractions which could hinder my career,” he said.
