Known for cyber bullying and social media attacks, the controversial daughter of former governor of Oyo state has sent an emotional message to her fans and supporters from prison.
Controversial investigative journalist and social media personality, Kemi Olunloyo, who has been languishing in a Port Harcourt prison for some weeks now, has spoken to her fans and supporters during a phone call initiated by Daddy Freeze.
The happy Kemi was heard in the phone conversation singing an Igbo song she learnt from prison titled “Imela o”, adding that she’s enjoying the prison life in Port Harcourt and everyone is treating her well.
She ended the conversation by thanking her fans and supporters who have stood by her during her trial time.
Recall that the daughter of former governor of Oyo State, Victor Omololu Olunloyo, was remanded in prison for purportedly publishing materials believed to have defamed an influential cleric, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, of the Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.
The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had granted the embattled journalist, N1 million bail following the bail application of her counsel, Fatai. O. Lawal.
The trial Judge, Justice H.I.O Shamah, who delivered the ruling, on Tuesday, 11th April, said the Court exercised discretionary power and, also, because the offence for which she was arraigned was bailable.
Reading the long list of bail conditions, Justice Shamah said the accused must produce a surety in like sum, adding that the surety must be resident in Port Harcourt metropolis and the person’s address must be verifiable.
Also, the surety, if a civil servant, should not be below Level 12 and must submit his or her letter of employment, as well as staff identity card. The surety would also sign an undertaking to ensure the accused person did not jump bail and to bring her to court on adjourned dates.
Kemi is yet to fulfil her bail conditions and is still spending time in detention. Listen to the phone conversion between Daddy Freeze and Kemi below;
