Prolific video director Sesan Ogunro has spoken on the nature of music videos in Nigeria. In music video today, the parade of half naked vixens is already a trend. Videos are just too explicit, which are not too okay to be viewed by the adolescents.
In an n interview with Hip TV, the director explained it isn’t a big deal, as this is what sells the music most times. He also said whether or not sexy vixens are used in Nigerian videos, people are still going to see them when they tune into international music channels.
“I don’t agree, I don’t disagree. People say we objectify women but I don’t objectify them. I find women very attractive and I try to showcase them not in their best forms but in their sexiest forms because on video and depending on the songs, that’s what sells. “If the song is
Conservative, yeah you shoot the women looking conservative.”
He buttressed his points by saying, though sex sells they do not sell sex rather they sell sexiness. Like some of his colleagues, he also has plans to shoot movies and he hinted he would be producing a new movie soon that would be an international standard and above any movie Nollywood has ever done.
