Nollywood actress, Ronke Oshodi, is currently trying her hands on other projects like music since she is an all round entertainer but one thing she is not happy with is tribalism in the industry.
The actress recently expressed that aside other challenges the movie industry is facing one key challenges to lookout for is tribalism and not belonging to a particular umbrella or association.
She boasted that she has been one actress that loves appreciating others for their works and also upcoming actresses but pointed out that they as women too do not support their fellow woman because of their success.
In her words, “The number one challenge we have is tribalism, yes, coupled with not being under one umbrella. I tell people, Americans love their country, that’s why they love themselves. Of course, they’ve got shortcomings as well but you won’t really see it the way you see it here in Nigeria. This tribalism of a thing is actually our number one problem. A Yoruba man would not want to call an Igbo man to act in a movie and same with the Igbo people.
“Especially we women; you know that person is your colleague and you will be giving her attitude. All these things to me are childish. That’s one thing about me, if I see any good actress, I approach her and compliment her.”
She also appreciated herself by stating that she does not have any unhealthy relationship with any of her colleagues in the industry. “believe me, I love everybody in their own way.”
