Nollywood actor, Olaniyi ‘Sanyeri’ Afonja has revealed the hurdles he faced before making it to the top.
Many may think that the popular Yoruba actor was born with a silver spoon but it was not so for Olaniyi whose story is a pathetic one. He revealed that at a point in time in his life, he had to become a mobile cobbler to make ends meet because after acting those days he will not be paid.
In other to survive he had to take to repair peoples shoe a craft which he leant when he was in Oyo state. He would put his materials in a wooden box, place it on his shoulder and start hitting it ashe walked the length and breadth of Idumota.”
According to him, people like patronizing the Ghanaians cobblers because they feel they do better jobs so because of that he would always cover his face to conceal his tribal mark.
He noted that he had to quit the job when he realized that it was affecting his career as an actor.
