Sometimes it is not always easy leaving a record label that made one and moving to establish your own but Oluwajuwonlo Iledara, better known as Jaywon, he has been struggling hard and getting his groove each day.
The singer who left Kennis Music Some years back to start his own record label started in a recent interview that it has not been easy for him to pay other people’s salaries but he has been doing his best as it now pays him more to be a boss than work under someone.
He disclosed that the proceeds he made form the sale of his latest album which he called ‘Oba Orin’ he had to donate the money to an orphanage in Abuja as a way of showing gratitude to God.
The singer told New Telegraph that he decided to embark on such charitable work because he now controls his money and can do what he please unlike when he was under a label and has to work under rules.
According to him, “The money I made during the first two weeks I released the album was donated to an orphanage home in Abuja and we plan to do more of such. I have always wanted to do this for a long time, but when you are under a record label, you have to follow their rules. I am now my own boss and I can take decisions on my own. I thank the Almighty for making it possible for me. With the support of Mr. Churchill (Tonto Dike’s husband), I was able to bring smiles on the faces of the orphans in my own small way.”
