Nigerian Yoruba actor Owolabi Ajasa had surprised many Nigerians wen his photos appeared online where he was in a NYSC camp in Kogi state.
According to the compulsory NYSC law, if you are above the age of 30 you can be exempted from serving the nation but Owolabi did not abide by this instead he opted to serving the nation not minding his age.
According to him he is the first graduate in his family and that is the sole reason he had to undergo the compulsory NYSC scheme.
Speaking on why he obeyed the clarion call, Owolabi said;
“It is a simple matter. It all depends on the time you finish your tertiary education. If you are over 30 at that time, you can choose to seek exemption from service but I chose not to do that. I also decided to ‘serve’ because I am the first graduate in my family and it really meant a lot to me. That’s why I wrote on social media that I broke a jinx in my family by observing NYSC.”
Owolabi is a graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he studied Marketing. He is best known to play the part of a police man, having acted this role more than 90% times after he produced his most popular movie the ‘agony of a police man’
