Popular Nigerian gospel singer Frank Ugochukwu Edwards hails from Enugu state and his popular with his stage name frank Edwards.
Frank Edwards has compared himself to the Almighty God after he shared a photo of himself in expectation of his upcoming album.
In the photo, he was embroidered with a white robe with his hands raised into the air. This act was done by Jesus Christ when he was on earth.
Then he was questioned by one of his follower on why he was trying to look like Jesus Christ or is he God?
“I’m not trying to look like Jesus, I am like Jesus” Frank Edwards replied him.
Regards to this response, frank has gotten many blasts from people who are angry for him likening himself to Jesus.
In May 2011 he was nominated as the Gospel artiste of the year in the sixth annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA). He won the award of the best Gospel Rock artiste in the first annual awards.
He also won West Africa best male vocalist in 2012, best hit single at the love world awards 2012, and 3 awards at the Nigeria gospel music awards (male artiste of the year, song of the year and best male vocal). His latest album, Frankincense which feat Micah Stampley and Nathaniel Bassey got everyone wowed when it topped Beyonce’s and Adele’s albums within few hours of release on iTunes album chart
Claiming to be like Jesus would be considered as anti-Christ by the Christian folks.
