Better known as Muma Gee, Gift Iyumame Eke, has declared that she does not feel threatened by the younger acts just coming into the music industry.
She told Sunday Scoop, “Music is within me and I never get threatened by other emerging acts. If you know my brand of music, characteristics, and mannerisms, you will know my uniqueness as an artiste. I don’t get frightened; I am a pacesetter and other female artistes are leveraging on what I have done.
“I am back now to take my music to the next level. I am not doing music to be a superstar but to make a difference. The talent has been given to me by God, and it is in that direction I am doing what I am doing.”
Also, the singer, whose marriage to actor, Prince Eke, has fallen apart, gave reasons she went into politics, contesting the Federal House of Representative seat in Abua/Odua and Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State.
“I am now a Law student at the University of Lagos, and that is because I went into politics. I felt that I should be an authority in politics by getting a law degree. I joined politics because I don’t belong to the people who complain at the background of bad leadership. I think we should take the lead now and set the space for what leadership should be.
“Youths should be given a chance to get into politics because they are more proactive and they know their onions. I don’t think I should be sitting down and complaining about bad leadership when I can make a difference. We need new faces in the Nigerian politics,” Muma Gee stated.
