How tout robbed me because I refused to give him money – Chinney Ogunje
Nollywood filmmaker, Chinney Love Ogunje, has narrated horrible incident that happened to her recently on her to the airport.
According to her, a tout approached her asking for money but when she refused, he brazenly stole her side mirrors and provoked her, saying there was nothing she could do since she wouldn’t give him money.
She noted, “I was robbed on my way to the airport; this tout was begging me for money when I didn’t have to give him. He stole my side mirrors and said there was nothing I could do as I didn’t want to give him money. Broad daylight with many Nigerians just staring at me as I was robbed.
“Still in shock… what is the way forward in this country? I have never been an advocate for Japa; I had an opportunity to get a U.S. passport through my dad years ago, but I wasn’t interested because I was okay just being a Nigerian. Now I weep for this country! The country that has blessed me so much is still the same country giving me pain! Nigerians have been silenced not to protest, so how do we demand our rights?
“This is so sad! I am tired of hoping and praying for Nigeria; there’s so much hunger now that we citizens are no longer safe anymore! If this is not addressed soon, I fear for what’s to come.”
