During childbirth in Kilifi County, Kenyan actress, Maureen Wanza dies with her baby. Wanza, popularly known as Sasha from the hit local show, Sumu passed on while ushering a new soul into the world.
The movie star died as public hospitals in the country remained grounded. Kenya’s clinical officers and medical caretakers were observing their strike, at the time of her labour.
After developing complications, Wanza had been hurried to a private center. But all efforts to sustain her survival proves abortive.
According to Ashiners Films CEO, Ann Hamburg, “It was an emergency. While at the facility, her situation worsened as she gave birth. She bled to death. Unfortunately, her baby also died minutes later.”
