A lot of your people are surprised at your decision to get married on January 29, 2011. What led to your decision in spite the fact that you were just getting popular in the Yoruba movie industry?

It is not something I have been planning because I don’t take life too serious. I believe everything in life takes time. When I met my husband I saw qualities I was looking for in a man who would be my husband. Fortunately he proposed to me to waste time. So I decided to get married to the right man at the right time.

Can you tell us where and how you met him?

We met in Holland. When I travelled there for a short holiday. That was 3 years ago. We started initially as friends because I was in a relationship then. Then we spoke a lot but we kept our relationships. After a while we had problems with our relationship of different times. It got to a time I could confide in him, so I told him about my troubled relationship. One thing led to the other and so we began dating. In spite of that he starting travelling down to Lagos twice a year.

So when did he propose to you?

He proposed to me late last year. It was after then we had our traditional family introduction in September 2010.

What makes you convinced he is a husband material?

He is the man who God created for me. I have met so many men in my life, I have seen so many relationships. And most of my friends are guys. I don’t have female friends. I have been close to a lot of guys from my university days. I saw lot of things in him. I cherish and want in a man.

A lot of families don’t like their sons to marry actresses. How are your in-laws reacting to you?

(Laughs) My in-laws are the best in the whole world. They like me, they love me, they cherish me and they respect me. I don’t have any problem with them.

Where is your husband from?

He is from Ijebu-Ife in Ogun State.

Are you going to dump acting after you get married?

No. I won’t quit acting. You know I have other things I do aside acting. I am into other businesses and I have shops I run, I model for adverts. My husband is aware of all these.

Tell us a bit about your husband.

What do you want to know about my husband?

Your fans deserve to know about the man who is getting married to you?

Don’t worry, you will get to know him after the wedding. He is simply Funsho and sells cars in Holland and Nigeria.

How many kids do you want to have?

I want as many kids as possible. Even if it is 10 kids (aya me gbe) (meaning I am capable of raising 10 kids).

You mean you can raise 10 kids?

Yes of course. As long as God permits us.

What caused the break up in your former relationship?

It was caused by the normal thing in a relationship. But not all relationships end in marriage. I don’t think it is a crime if relationships don’t work. We did not fight but after several years I discovered we are not compatible. And the relationship was not working. So we went our separate ways.

Your decision to get married at a time when you were getting to limelight would obviously affect your career. How do you want to go about it?

I am not the partying type. I am homely and I give attention to my business. So I don’t think getting married would affect me or my fame.

What name will you be bearing?

I will be known as Mrs. Anita Funsho (laughs).

Is the man keeping his surname?

He is not keeping his surname. I am the one you will get to know about his name after our marriage.

How are your parents taking the wedding plans?

My parents are so happy. This is because people see me as an un-serious person so my getting married is coming as a surprise to many people.

What form is the wedding going to take?

Saturday, January 29, 2011 is my traditional wedding and reception of guests takes place immediately by the grace of God.

Are you relocating to Holland to join your husband after your marriage?

I am not going to relocate. I will be in Nigeria taking care of the house but my husband will be coming home frequently. I will also be travelling to Holland frequently to visit him.

So how are you coping with your condition?

(Laughs). I thank God.

You have known to be changing cars regularly. How do you go about this?

My husband deals in cars, so before they are sold I use them.
