Since its first preview on some television stations nationwide, the much- talked about Gulder Ultimate Search Celebrity Showdown has continued to generate some interest among TV lovers.
During the first show, the participating celebrities were introduced to viewers who, in the next few weeks, will be glued to their television sets, as they watch their favourite superstars slug it out among themselves for the ultimate prize.
Although there have been rumours of some indecent behaviours among some celebrities, the organisers have vehemently debunked it. For instance, Niger-Delta singer, Muma Gee, was allegedly caught in some compromising position with ‘playboy’ actor, Emeka Ike, in one of the bathroom scenes. Also, it was rumoured that some stars pulled out of the show due to irreconcilable differences between them and the organizers.
In his reaction, Edem Vindah, the Head of Communications of the Nigeria Breweries Plc, said, “The rumour came as a rude shock, even to the organizers. Nigeria Breweries is determined to give its teeming customers and GUS lovers a thrill of their life-times with the introduction of the celebrity version of the Gulder Ultimate Search.”
In the same vein, Mr. Yusuf Ageni, the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said, “Television viewers will, for the duration of the programme, have something to always look up to, as there will never be a dull moment.”
The 10 celebrities in the maiden edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search Celebrity Showdown, which will be anchored by Genevieve Nnaji, include: Princess, Emeka Ike, Muma Gee, Funke Akindele, Daddy Showkey, Chioma Chukwukah, Abbass Akande Obesere, Weird MC, Dare Art Alade and Bob-Manuel Udokwu. The programme will be aired once a week for 11 weeks on select television stations in Nigeria and beyond on both terrestrial and satellite channels
