Versatile Yoruba film actor, Prince Bamidele Odule, has been attacked by some unidentified gunmen.
http://www.nigeriafilms.com gathered that Odule, who is the Vice President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), was attacked somewhere at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on his way to Ibadan, Oyo State.
His Volvo 850 GLT model, with registration number Lagos JY 517 KJA, was riddled with bullets, it was gathered. While confirming the attack, Odule said he was shot in the night at close range before the suspects sped off.
The actor revealed that the gunmen thought he was dead and sped off, but God saved me, the bullets did not hit me”.
Odule, who is currently a part-time student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, stated further: “I still cannot explain how the bullets pierced the body of my vehicle without hitting me because they fired at me at a close range.” He wondered why anyone would want to kill him at his prime.
“I had no shady deal with anybody and I am still a gentleman, I have always been so, why would they want me dead?” he asked. Odule said immediately the gunmen fired their bullets, they fled the scene. He added that the case was immediately reported to the police at Ijebu-Ode, adding that investigation had commenced on the matter.
Also commenting on the attack, Prince Babajide Kosoko, national president of the ANTP, condemned the attack on his colleague and urged the police to investigate the matter.
