Popular gospel singer Frank Edwards has expressed disappointment over the kind of song secular artists sing. He sent some words of admonition to these singers advising them to make their song morally based.
He noted that secular music can be used to address a nation positively, but the reverse is the case in Nigeria were 90% singers talk about winning bum bum and kissing in their musical videos.
Frank said that these things will end up corrupting the morals in the growing generation.” Remember that you will have children or already have , will you actually let them listen and do all the things you said in that song,” he asked
Songs that have to do with sex, women, wine, money have been the major theme of most Nigerian secular artists and like the veteran singer ,Onyeka Onwenu said, this era will pass. We really hope that anew era comes soon.
