A former R&B singer turned Gospel singer says he experienced God after being shot at by gang members and being declared dead for 30 minutes.
Tony Davis was in L.A. driving to pick up his wife when gang members started shooting at his jeep, according to Charisma News.
He made it to his wife’s work where police told him that firing at his car was probably part of a gang initiation. Police then left to pursue the gang members.
Fifteen minutes later, several gang members began to fire at Davis again.
“I ran toward my jeep,” Tony said. “The first bullet hit my leg. I limped until I dropped down beside my jeep.
“Why?” Davis shouted at the gang members. “What have I done to you? In the name of Jesus, put down the gun.”
He said he saw a woman in white walking toward him who told him it was going to be “all right.”
“I floated up and saw my body lying there. I floated in beautiful white clouds. I began to feel good.
“Way off in the clouds I saw a huge beautiful city far away from me.”
He then heard a voice telling him he needed to go back. He had been dead for 30 minutes and suffered five gunshot wounds.
Doctors thought they would have to amputate his leg and that he would never speak or sing again after accidentally cutting his vocal chord, but Davis was able to speak and move his leg.
“I can sing, I can jump on my leg,” he says, giving God the credit for restoring him to health.
