Veteran Nigerian thespian, Ego Boyo has given a piece of advice to moviemakers who have been remaking some Nollywood classics. The veteran actress perceived the new movie as not good enough.
Ego Boyo‘s tweet is coming at the heel of the release of the re-make of the classic movie, Glamour Girls.
On Friday, June 24, the modern-day version of Glamour Girls featuring Sharon Ooja and Nse Ikpe-Etim debuted on the streaming platform, Netflix. The movie has continued to receive primarily negative reviews from social media commentators on Twitter.
Joining the conversation on Twitter, Ego Boyo admonished filmmakers to leave Nollywood classics alone or at least do the work to make them worth watching.

Equally, the original Glamour Girls movie is a two-part Nollywood film about independent single women embarking on their own paths within Nigeria’s traditionally patriarchal society.
It gained widespread popularity in Nigeria. The film starred Liz Benson, Ngozi Ezeonu, Eucharia Anuobi, Pat Attah, Ernest Obi, Zack Orji, and others.
Glamour Girls movie lifetime copyrights was acquired by filmmaker Charles Okpaleke on December 12, 2019 and he has made the film which has been set for a 2022 release.
