Nigerian Super Eagles ex-footballer has been honored by his previous contractors the German Bundesliga. Jay-jay Okocha who is a legend in Nigeria, Africa is now a Legend in the Germany Football top flight League.
The famous and fan favorite of Nigerians played four years in the German Bundesliga and his skills and quality will never be forgotten.
He played for Eintracht Frankfurt after joining from FC Saarbrucken in December 1991. He played a total of 90 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt going on to score 18 goals and providing 13 assists, before moving to Fenerbahce in 1996 due to Eintracht Frankfurt’s relegation to the second tier of the German league.
His most memorable display was when he forced Germany best goalkeeper and legend Olivier Kahn into a dance after dribbling the entire defence line of Karlsruhe and also dribbling the goalkeeper to score in the encounter in 1993.
Okocha announced his retirement from football in 2008; he will be joining other legends in promoting the Bundesliga values and features in target markets which include Nigeria.
The former Nigeria Super Eagles captain joins Ghana legend and CAF deputy general secretary, Anthony Baffoe in the 11-man legends network that will be flying the Bundesliga flag across the world.
