Gbugbemi Ejeye praises Nollywood filmmakers for superb storytelling

Nigerian actress, Gbugbemi Ejeye, has praised filmmakers in Nollywood for the perfect way they tell stories currently.

According to the actress, the quality of work churned out in the industry has improved over the years.

She said, “I am proud of the quality of storytelling in Nollywood at the moment. Sometimes, you watch a movie and you truly understand what the filmmakers are trying to achieve.

“You relate to the story, and that’s something we’ve done well. It gets better. We have different producers and directors exploring various kinds of stories, which is exactly what we need now. We all cannot tell the same stories.”

Speaking about her personal approach to fashion, she said, “Fashion is an expression of self. How do you feel today? Dress how you feel.”

On how she feels when her dress sense is criticised, she said, “Me? I don’t care, I don’t know. I really don’t know. I just dress how I want to dress and how I feel like.”

The actress also opened up on her approach to acting, stressing the importance of authenticity when portraying characters.

“I just want to be truthful about the person I am playing. This is her life, and I am sure there is one person in this world who feels that way. I try to do justice to every character I play,” she said.
