As you read this piece, Showtime can reveal that the Hausa singer, actor cum comedian Funky Mallam, has concluded plans to commence the shooting of his soon-to-debut TV talk show Faskar Jarumai.
Funky Mallam said the talk show which is his initiative is conceived as a way of showcasing the other side of music scene in Nigeria. He maintained that he wants to use the programme to reach out to fans in the far North.
According to him, “this show will focus on both old and new generation artistes who aside from speaking the English language and their respective mother tongues as the case may be, can also speak the Hausa language.
Artistes like MI, Zacky and P-Square speak the Hausa language fluently but many people don’t know because there’s no avenue for them to showcase it. The show intends to bridge that gap, and bring close to their fans in the north to give them that sense of belonging that has been lacking or years in the industry.”
