Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Austin Ejide, on Thursday confirmed the death of his mother, Mrs Mary Onuekwusia Ejide, (Aruka Akwa).
According to the former shot-stopper, who earned 45 caps for the Super Eagles, late Mrs Mary Onuekwusia died in Chicago, United States of America, USA, at the age of 67.
Speaking with CompleteSports on the development, Ejide, who didn’t say exactly when his mother passed away, said his family was already making arrangements to fly her corpse back to their country home in Agulu, Anambra State, for burial.
The former Rangers and Gabros International FC goalkeeper said;
“She had been in the USA for a while. She died in Chicago, to be precise,”
“We’re still planning for the burial. When we are through, as regards when the corpse will be flown home, I will let you know.”
