The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has decided to curb leakages and boost its revenue base as it commissioned a state-of-the-art automated car park at the Domestic Terminal 1, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The modern facility is uniquely designed to ensure that parking fees are paid at the payment booth before users exit the car park unlike the past when you pay at entry point.
This facility also has a special billing system, which is programmed to give the end user the exact amount for time spent at the parking lots.
This will automatically eliminate long queues, reduce traffic, speed up passenger and vehicular movements at the landside of the Terminal and ensure seamless facilitation of passengers and airport users.
This automation will key into President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to transparency in all revenue points of all Federal government Agencies to the Federal Government Treasury Single Account.
The commissioning of this facility is in line with the Authority’s desire to give passengers and airport users improved air travel experience in line with global best practices.
FAAN assures the traveling public especially as we approach the peak period of air travel, which is usually associated with high passenger and vehicular traffic movements, of her commitment to give the best inspite of the economic challenges facing the country.
The toll gate was commissioned by Managing Director, FAAN, Engr. Saleh Dunoma, in company of Ag. Director, Maintenance & Engineering, Chief of Staff to the Managing Director, Mahmuda Zakari, Arc. Niger Temlong. General Manager, Procurement, Olatayo Ogini, Terminal Manager, Domestic Terminal 1, other top management staff, the contractor, airline officials and service providers.
