It was learnt that Examiners who were in charge of the 2016 Primary School Leaving Certificate have confiscated the results because of the inability of the Delta State Government to pay their allowances.
The examiners vowed that vows that even secondary school will not admit students into the Junior Secondary Classes unless their payment is made. They described the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a very wicked man.
This has affected many primary school graduates as they were forced to sit at home because they cannot present their result for admissions.
One of the examiners who spoke under anonymity said, “It is very bad that Governor Okowa has not paid us our allowances since we finished marking the exams that was written years back. I am disappointed in the governor.”
Meanwhile, the Delta State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Comrade Jonathan Jemierieyigbe could not be reached as at time of report. Also efforts to reach the Delta Commissioner for Basic & Secondary Education, Mr. Chiedu Ebie were futile.
