Following the bail granted to Abiodun Agbele, a suspect being probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, by a Federal Capital Territory High Court, the commission has sought to appeal to the ruling.
Agbele was arrested on alleged criminal infractions bordering on fraud and money laundering.
Justice Olukayode Fadeniyi, in a ruling yesterday, offered bail to Agbele and commanded the EFCC to pay the suspect N5million as compensation for unlawful detention.
The commission did not totally agree with the ruling as they described it as “curious” despite the information presented to the court that the suspect was being held with a valid remand warrants issued by competent courts.
The commission said it will file a motion for a stay of execution of the ruling.
