Like the saying goes, ‘a river that forgets its source will dry up’, and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, a veteran musician, not forgetting his root, has visited the place his music journey kicked off.

The widely-travelled artiste was at Idogo in Ogun State, where he his love for music was groomed by a church choir in the community.

Ebenezer gave his teenage church, Methodist Church, Idogo, a facelift.

The Nation reports that the musician helped in renovating the church’s roofing, which was in a bad state. He said the church was where his mother enrolled him in the choir.

“The gift of music and drumming all began here at Idogo. The name Obey which has now become part of my surname was given to me in this school. I also remember that Standard 2 and 3 classes were moved right into the church when I was in Standard 2. It was in this church and school that God prepared me for what I am today,” he said.
