The German Football Association are battling the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for a highly-rated Nigerian Bundesliga youngster. His German coaches has however come out to advise the star on the alliance to follow.
Germany U21s manager Stefan Kuntz and Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai are persuading versatile Hertha Berlin central defender Jordan Torunarigha to dump Nigeria for Germany.
The German bosses are imploring the protege to refuse the offer from the Nigerian Federation to represent the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup. They Bundesliga managers have included that he has a future with Germany’s senior national team.
Kuntz who invited Torunarigha for the upcoming U21 games against Israel and Kosovo said ”Jordan is a top player, who absolutely convinced me. He has a great left foot and his development is far from over. I did not nominate him for nothing again. ”
Pal Dardai also added ”The World Cup is certainly a great opportunity for him. But maybe it is better for the development, if he goes through the U21 at the DFB. Maybe then it works with the German national team.”
20-year-old Torunarigha has made 18 appearances for the Hertha Berlin senior team scoring two goals. His father Ojokojo Torunarigha made twelve appearances for the Super Eagles.
