Poor Omoni Oboli, after all her struggles and suffering to ensure that ‘Okafor’s Law’ was a success, her efforts have been floored. A Lagos High Court judge has ordered the seizure of the movie, days after she was barred from showing the film at the premiere last week.
The move was initiate by Rancoteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of the writer Jude Idada. Yesterday, an Anton Piller order was issued by Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos, seizing the film and also, stopping it from being shown in any theatre or cinema house, pending the court’s decision.
The drama started last year after the idea behind the movie was said to have been stolen by Oboli. Oboli never addressed this issue and went on to shoot the movie. Too sad, that the money she had invested seems like a waste investment.
