Senator Dino Melaye was not abducted, but ran into the bush after he was attacked on his way to Kogi state, Gideon Ayodele, the media aide to the lawmaker has said.

Ayodele stated this while speaking with OakTV about reports that the Kogi West Senator was abducted by some unknown gunmen on his way to Kogi State to attend the hearing of a criminal case of gunrunning levelled against him early Thursday.

One of the lawamaker’s colleague, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce had announced the purpoted abduction of Melaye on his twitter accounts, quoting Dino Melaye’s younger brother, Moses Melaye.

However, the Police said late Thursday that the purpoted kidnap of the Senator has not been reported in any of its stations throughout the country.

Moshood Jimoh, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police however said investigations into the alleged kidnap is ongoing while calling family members of the senator and those who witnessed the purpoted abduction to come forward with information,

But Oyedele said his boss was not abducted. but had to escape into the bush when he was attacked.

He added that the Senator’s whereabout has remained unknown since then.
