Nollywood star-cum-politician, Desmond Elliot has been named in a committee alongside seven others to look into the plea of former deputy governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro, to the Lagos State House of Assembly to upturn his impeachment in 2007.
Pedro had written to the House last week and his letter read on the floor by the Clerk, Ganiyu Abiru.
He urged the lawmakers to revisit his impeachment on compassionate grounds. The father-in-law to Bella Naija owner also attached his letter of resignation, which he wrote before his eventual impeachment.

After deliberating on his request on the floor, Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa constituted an 8-man ad-hoc committee headed by the Majority Leader, Sanai Agunbiade to look into the matter.
Others in the committee are Desmond Elliot, Muyiwa Jimoh, Kazeem Alimi, Folajimi Mohammed, Shokunle Hakeem, Moshood Oshun and Gbolahan Yishawu.
Pedro was removed from office by the House in 2007 when the administration of Bola Tinubu was almost wrapping up. He was replaced by Chief Biodun Ogunleye.
