Death Denied Me Opportunity To Collaborate With Baba Suwe – Taaooma
Popular Nigerian skit performer, Maryam Apaokagi, also known as Taaooma, has revealed that she would have loved to collaborate with late comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, if he was alive.
She added that her dream of teaming up with the legendary comedian almost happened but her team got to him late.
“Baba Suwe (of blessed memory) was that African celebrity I would have loved to collaborate with. But, when my team reached out to him, he was not feeling well. I loved him so much as a kid. He had the banter and wordplay that syncs with one of my characters,” Taaooma revealed.
Furthermore, contrary to her celebrity status, Taaooma revealed that she is not an extrovert and enjoys staying at home, providing her with the space to reflect on herself and handle the challenges that come with fame.
When asked about dealing with expectations that accompany her fame, Taaooma mentioned that she takes tips and complaints seriously. She emphasized her receptiveness to online feedback and highlighted her team’s prompt action in addressing and improving upon issues raised.
She said, “I do not really notice a significant change, and that may be due to the fact that I am an indoor person, and I always have my space to reflect on the past. That makes it simple for me to deal with the strain.”
“To get over that feeling, I take a break, go to the movies, eat out, and spend time with my family. As regards criticism online, I am receptive to receiving comments. I take the feedback, sit down with my team, and work on it.”
