Passage: Genesis 3:17
“And to Adam he said, ‘Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you…”
Message: Separation
Prior to the passage, we learn after Eve had eaten the forbidden fruit, she gave it to Adam and he ate it, disobeying the initial command by God. We might not know the exact reasons why Adam disobeyed God’s command by listening to Eve, but there’s the possibility that Adam didn’t want to be without a “helper.” What if, however, the same way God created Eve, by taking a rib from Adam, He would’ve created another woman through another rib? What if there was a solution to another helper if God had to separate Eve and Adam as a result of Adam not eating the fruit?
Similar to Adam, we often make decisions against God’s will to keep people that can be replaced, or we justify our actions due to the nature of our relationship with them. Yet, despite the relationship, no one other than God could truly guide you, only Him knows the steps you ought to take in order to reach your fulfilled potential.
Nevertheless, separation is hard, the very people He appointed to your life based on their choices might no longer need to be, but God is faithful, we ought not to fear loneliness, He would make provision for every need, also the need for companionship.
I pray we wouldn’t fear separation, knowing that our relationship with God is the provision to everything else.
