Passage: 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Love is Patient”
There’s a thin line between love and lust. Lust isn’t always sexual, but it’s always a very strong desire for something that if unchecked, the thought of thing consumes you until you have it. This can be deceptive to a believer because often times we forget that being in Christ doesn’t stop the flesh from revealing its desires. So, we might pursue something that’s birthed from lust, convincing ourselves that it’s the result of love. Nevertheless, love is patient; love doesn’t need to have it right now.
It’s love that allows things to blossom into their wholeness before stepping in, it’s love that allows you to take your time with your purpose, partner, people, etc. It’s because of love God takes His time with us before releasing certain things to us. Love would never cause frustration, it’s patient.
I pray discernment over our desires, knowing what’s birthed from lust or love and anything outside love to be surrendered to God.
If you have any prayer requests, write me.
