Passage: Acts 1:24-25
And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”
Message: Divine Partnerships
In the passage, the disciples of Jesus, no longer twelve in number after the betrayal and death of Judas Iscariot, knew another had to be appointed to take his place. There were two candidates of which one would be selected, its important to note how the disciples went about the selection. They didn’t rely on their knowledge or the opinions of others, but they sought God, because truly, only He knows the heart of all.
We ought never to go into partnership with people without seeking God’s counsel, because your knowledge of them is never the full story. Your purpose is your God given assignment on the earth, so we shouldn’t connect people to what God assigned to us that haven’t been assigned by Him.
Amongst the two men in the passage, the disciples were aware that God had chosen the one that’ll be a part of the ministry. God has people He has assigned to you; it’s not our place to analyze based on natural reasoning, but to seek Divine insight.
I pray in knowing that we are partners with Christ over everything concerning us, we would seek Him about people prior to involving them in our ministries, visions, plans, etc.
