The marriage of Nollywood film marketer, Ajibola Ayeni, popularly known as Ayeni Ventures, came to an end, Thursday.
An Abeokuta Grade II Customary Court, Ake, had granted his request to divorce his wife of 27 years, Funke Ayeni.
The marketer had asked the court to dissolve the marriage to the mother of six on grounds of the interest of peace and tranquillity.
A visibly pained Funke said:
Do you remember how they stripped you naked for raping an eight-year-old girl? Nobody stood by you then but only me. But now that you have a second wife you do not see anything good in me again. It is now that I am engaging in adultery? God will reward you.
Aminat Adesanya, Ayeni’s eldest child called him “irresponsible and uncaring.”
She told the court:
Since it appears that both can no longer understand each other and my father himself said he is no longer interested in the marriage, I say the court should separate them.
Ayeni however said Funke packed out of the house at her own volition.
