Organisers of the first ever Afrikcan Festival have billed controversial Nigerian-born US-based artiste, Jidenna to perform at the event, which holds from July 21 to July 25, 2015. Grammy award winner, Angelique Kidjo and Nigerian singer, Wizkid, had earlier been named among performers.

The festival, aimed to celebrate African music, literature, fashion and food, will take place at the Ramsey Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The organisers have also announced American soul musician, Erykah Badu, to take part in the 5-day event.

Jidenna was in the was in the news over the weekend following his statement that he had to bring in commandos and several AK47 guns for the burial of his father due to the fear of being kidnapped.

The highly rated singer would be joined by Ivorian Reggae legend, Alpha Blondy, Black Coffee, Les Nubian and many others.
