Yoruba language comedian, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr. Latin, was yesterday, involved in an auto crash along Abeokuta-Lagos road.
The accident occurred at Onipepeye village, about 15 minutes from Abeokuta, when the vehicle conveying him and six other members of his comedy group somersaulted several times on the highway, as a result of a burst tire.
Mr. Amusan and his group were returning from Lagos after securing a London visa for one of his member.
The occupants of the vehicle, who got thrown out on impact, were rescues by sympathetic commuters, and taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.
NEXT gathered that though Mr. Amusan did not sustain serious injuries, he complained of severe body pain and ache, after he received first aid treatment. Two other occupants, including the one that was just issued the visa, sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital.
Scores of members of the Association of National Theatre Practitioners trooped to the Emergency Treatment Room of the hospital to visit their injured colleagues.
Shaken actor
The shaken actor told NEXT that all what he could remember when the tyre burst was telling the driver not to apply the brakes. “Before I could understand what was going on, our vehicle was somersaulting. It was some motorists who brought us to the hospital,” he said.
The comedian recalled that the passengers in the bus were all still in celebration mood at the granted visa, when the incident occurred.
“However, we are still full of praises to God for sparing our lives,” he said, and also thanked the hospital authorities for given the victims prompt attention.
