For prolific director, Charles Inojie, the death of his mother, Mrs. Eneho Afela Otitiboyi, during a protracted illness on Friday, April 9, is a tragic chapter in his memoirs.
Describing his late mother, he said, “Mama, I don’t know about re-incarnation and, therefore, cannot tell if, like yam seed, you will come back someday, refined and more prosperous. And because I am not a member of God’s jury, I can’t also foretell the direction the recompense of your sojourn on earth will lead you at heaven’s gate…but surely, I know that with your demise, the brightest star has fallen from the skies and the earth has lost its salt…Rest in peace.”
