Burna Boy: Deji Adeyanju secures Speed Darlington’s release
Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has confirmed the release of controversial media personality, Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington from police custody.
According to the lawyer, Darlington was released late Tuesday after meeting his bail conditions.
Adeyanju, in a post he made on Facebook, thanked those who contributed to the singer’s release and commended the police in the IRT department for their professionalism.
“Special appreciation to #YeleSowore, super reliable senior lawyer #stanalieke, and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington. Must also appreciate Prof Sanusi and his team at IRT for their professionalism today,” he wrote.
Recall that Burna Boy accused Darlington of defaming and cyberstalking him.
In a viral video, Darlington had asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy award for his album ‘Twice As Tall’, taunting his affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
Following his remark, Darlington was secretly picked up by the police.
