One of the biggest concerts in Nigeria, Beat Of Lagos, will hold in 2014, Nigeriafilms.com has confirmed. The show is billed to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Vitoria Island, Lagos.
A statement made available to us by the organizers of the show revealed that this year’s event will surpass the past editions.
In 2011, Motbensonz debuted with the Beat of Lagos Concert, which was headlined by P Square and several other A-list artistes. The second edition, which was held on October 27, 2012, saw scintillating performances from Eldee, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Solidstar, Skales, Dammy Krane. Flowsick, Chidinma, Iyanya, Dr Sid, Lynxxx, Durella, Sheyi Shay, Jaywon, late Goldie and many more.
For the 2014 version of the show, the organizers have revealed that performances would be based on feedback from the #whatsyourbeatoflagos campaign via Motbensonz twitter account @motbensonz and @rubiesinkmedia.
Media Consultant to Motbensonz, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye, CEO of Rubies Ink Media, also said this year’s show is expected to be filled with suprises.
According to the CEO of Motbensonz, Toye Benson, “The Beat of Lagos Concert provides an atmosphere for networking and also serves as a timeout to celebrate entertainment icons and songs that has kept us dancing the year round.”
The concert accommodates a minimum of 2,000 physical crowd yearly and the material via various media channels and the event is taking a new twist in 2014 as the crowd would witness the crowning of a fans choice award for the most voted song as ‘Beat of Lagos 2014’ amidst sensational mixes and dance performances from DJ Caise and Dnmt.
The Beat of Lagos Concert is powered by Huawei and Top Tea.
Ijewere Kalejaiye said in the statement made available to us that the first week will kick off with the #WhatsyourbeatofLagos. She explained that, “the aim of this initiative is to stir up a conversation whereby music lovers can declare what to them is their beat of Lagos in the last nine months, the song that made them dance the most.”
She further disclosed that this would be “followed by the #BeatofLagos, which will run for three weeks.”
